How to create a steady PT business

Many personal trainers rely on a single coaching offer and a single price point (usually a 1-2-1 price per hour). While this might feel simple, it often limits both income and impact. Clients do not all have the same budget, commitment level or support needs, and your business should reflect that reality.

Having products at different price points allows you to help more people without undervaluing your time. Not everyone is ready or able to invest in high level 1-2-1 coaching, but many still want guidance, structure and accountability. If your only option is premium coaching, those people walk away, even though you could have supported them in another way.

Different offers also meet clients at different stages of their journey. A beginner could require education and confidence before committing to personalised coaching. A more experienced client may want ongoing accountability or specialist support. By offering entry level, mid tier and premium options, you create a clear pathway for clients to progress with you over time rather than leaving once their needs change.

From a business perspective, multiple price points create more stable income. Lower cost products such as online programmes, group coaching or memberships can generate consistent revenue and act as a feeder into higher ticket services. Higher priced offers then allow you to work more closely with fewer clients while maintaining profitability (working smarter not harder).

Offering budget friendly options does not mean lowering your standards. It means packaging your knowledge in different ways. The key is clarity on what is included at each level so clients can choose what suits them best.

Personal training is not one size fits all. When your pricing and products reflect that, you create a business that is more inclusive, more scalable and more sustainable, while helping more people get results.
