One of the most underrated benefits of being a Personal Trainer has nothing to do with fitness.
At 19 years old, I was spending hours every week around doctors, business owners, executives and high performers.
Most people my age were only surrounded by people in the same stage of life as them. Meanwhile, I was building relationships with people who had decades more experience, knowledge and success.
And the interesting part was that it happened naturally.
When you train someone consistently, you build trust. Conversations go beyond sets and reps. You start hearing how people think, how they make decisions, how they handle pressure, business, money and life.
Without realising it, I was getting access to rooms, conversations and perspectives that most 19 year olds never get exposure to.
That environment fast tracks your growth.
You begin thinking bigger because your standards change. You pick up lessons that would normally take years to learn on your own. You also build a network of people who already operate at the level you’re trying to reach.
A lot of people see personal training as just a fitness job.
But if you approach it properly, it can become one of the best industries for learning how successful people think and building relationships that can completely change the trajectory of your career.
Sometimes proximity is the real opportunity.
